Going out for a movie tonight? Pick a comedy instead of a tear-jerker. Not only will you feel more upbeat after a long day of work but you will save yourself some calories too. Research at the University of Mississippi found that people tend to consume 28% more snacks or 115 calories while watching a sentimental film than they do during a laugh-riot. “People use food to boost their sad mood,” says study author Nitika Garg, PhD.
